Blog2026 ≫ Less than a week of runuary to go

It was hella cold out there, but another one done. I ran around Sandgate riviera again. As I jogged through Sandgate I noticed Docker has been closed for the whole of Dry January 1. Seems a fairly sensible move to me, but I think it shows they don't have a regular clientelle of locals, as I don't know many other people doing this not drinking lark. Still less than a week to go. The week could go fast, if I'm busy, and I probably will be. In that time I have one trip to London, one to Portchester and Portsmouth, and two nights out here!

Wife has booked us into the quiz at The Ship on Thursday. That is stil open. We got the last booking there so it's obviously popular. Can we win it? We will be a team of six, as us four are going and eating there, and two friends are joining us.

Couple of pleasingly round gigiversaries today, Phoenix (the band, not the festival) a quarter of a century ago, and Catatonia at Southampton Joiners three decades ago today.

Speaking of Southampton, one-all draw at Portsmouth today, mostly while I was out running. I had no way of watching it and struggled to find any way of listening while I was running. So just caught up via notifications. This leaves Pompey only just above the relegation zone still.

Thick cloud and a gentle breeze, 4 - 7℃.

  1. Not drinking for the month of January.
