A work freebie from NME, we nearly didn't get in because I couldn't prove I was who I was claiming to be (I wasn't). I basically put a bribe in the charity collection bucket and they let it go.

I have seen Gene probably 10 times; Essential Music Festival @ Stanmer Park ('95), Glastonbury ('95), Tiger @ Mean Fiddler (1996), V Festival @ Hylands Park (1997), Kentish Town Forum (1999), Pavement (or possibly Gene + Ocean Colour Scene) @ Shepherds Bush Empire ('99), The Scala ('00), Uncle Bob's Wedding Reception @ Kings Cross Water Rats (2000), London Astoria ('01), + Hammersmith Odeon (2025). Part of every gig I was at from '87 to 2026. A natural step from my Best gigs of all time blog post. Yeah I know very nerdy, let's let that go though, I'm having fun reminiscing about this stuff.
